Feed the Feed: Content Creation Inspiration for Nutritionists

Feeling stuck in a rut when it comes to posting effective social media content to promote your nutrition business? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered - check out our suggestions below to get those creative content juices flowing.

  • Quick tips - Keeping things short and sweet can be a great way of reaching your audience with minimal effort. Using a one slide post, give your followers a daily dose of advice. This could be something as simple as a reminder to eat breakfast, or get more creative with quick snack ideas or meal prep hacks.

  • Reviews - Publishing your professional point of view can be a great way of gaining trust from your audience. Whether written with striking visuals or delivered straight to camera, showcase your knowledge and expertise by offering your take on the latest food trends, topics and products.

  • Recipes - Show off your innovative side by taking recipes and adapting them to suit your audience's needs and preferences. These could range from viral instagram recipes to traditional dishes, or even spotlight on different ingredients and cooking methods to create unique, healthy and tasty meals (with images to prove it, of course).

  • Infographics - The visuals are everything on social media. Use design to educate your following by creating an infographic to spotlight on a particular food, nutrient, supplement or even nutrition trend to pique their interest.

  • Success stories - Let the results speak for themselves by sharing the success stories of your clients. Repost client testimonials with striking graphics or share before and after pictures of visual transformations - just make sure you get your client’s permission first!

  • Behind the scenes - It’s not just what you do, it’s how you do it. Little snippets of your work station, what’s in your fridge or a meal you’ve eaten today, or longer-form content such as a day in your working life, your food shop for the week or meal prepping are creative ways to make engaging and relevant content, and show us what you’re up to.

  • All about you - People love to get to know the person behind the product. Whatever your home situation or hobbies, posting personal content in a measured way that’s relevant to your business can humanise your feed and make you more relatable to your audience.

  • Interactive - Listen to your audience to create fun and interactive content. Live streams, polls and Q&As are all great ways of engaging with your audience, plus encouraging your followers to ask questions that you’ll respond to in future posts is a great way to self-generate content that is tailored to your community.

  • Articles - Social media tends to favour the short and snappy, but if you write articles or a blog, posting an attention-grabbing visual and linking to these is a must for your feed. It’s a great opportunity to increase traffic to your website too.

  • Collaborate - Two (or three, or four…) heads are better than one. Team up with complementary businesses in your industry to create co-branded content that reaches a broader audience. The more the merrier!

Remember, whatever you choose to post, it’s essential that you create content with high-quality images, videos and designs, and that you are posting consistently to build credibility in your business. We hope you’ve enjoyed our top tips to re-invigorate your feed, and that you feel inspired to create exciting content that engages and expands your audience!
